02One-time engagement

Digital Baseline

A one-time engagement to put the technology foundation in order: sites, accounts, access, and the systems people use every day. When that foundation is set, I hand over the keys. You drive.

Best fitTeams ready to improve a specific system or process, with the people who use it involved in the work.

The problem

Put the plan to work.

A website may need bookings and payments behind it. A new reporting tool may need clean data from several sources. I work on those connections as well as the part people see.

We agree what needs to change, choose the tools and sequence, then build and test in stages. Your team keeps the documentation and knows how to run the result.

What this can cover

From the plan to the working system.

  1. 01

    Project planning

Agree what the system needs to do, which tools it needs to connect to, and how we will test it.

  2. 02

    Tool and vendor decisions

Compare suitable tools and vendor proposals before committing to a purchase.

  3. 03

    Workflow and automation

Connect forms, customer records, email and approvals so staff do not have to copy information between tools.

  4. 04

    Migration and configuration

Configure systems, migrate relevant data, and preserve recoverability during material changes.

  5. 05

    Reporting and controls

Build reports that give your team usable information about the work and flag problems that need attention.

  6. 06

    Documentation and handoff

Leave runbooks, access responsibilities, maintenance guidance, and a clear owner after delivery.

How it works

Plan, build, test and hand over.

  1. 01

    Define the roadmap

Agree the work, sequence, access and tests with your team.

  2. 02

    Build in stages

Configure, migrate, integrate, and test in stages that keep risk visible and changes recoverable.

  3. 03

    Test with operators

Try real tasks with your staff and check what happens when something goes wrong.

  4. 04

    Document and hand off

Provide instructions, access details and any outstanding issues to the people taking over.

Questions

Common questions about the Digital Baseline.

Does this always follow Diagnostics?

No. You can commission a project directly. If we need to investigate the existing setup first, we include that in the proposal.

Who owns the result?

You do. Your team receives the documentation and access needed to run the system.

What if the scope changes?

We make the change explicit and agree on the effect on deliverables, timing, risk, and price before expanding the work.

Is ongoing care included?

No. Ongoing Stewardship is a separate monthly retainer. It can follow the Digital Baseline if you want me to keep administering the stack.

Ready to put the foundation in order?

Send the project details, the people or systems involved, and any deadline. We can define the right implementation scope from there.
