JaCamp grew out of the rural retreats I host. Parents regularly told me they valued those events because they were naturally kid-friendly and international, while most outdoor opportunities in Japan remained difficult for families and international campers to access.
I built an auditing and database system that assesses outdoor establishments for different groups, operational readiness and digital infrastructure. It turns scattered campground information into structured comparisons rather than relying on language ability or guesswork.
The live directory now contains 3,185 campground records across 15 prefectures, with official reservation links, booking-difficulty notes, amenity details and maps. Visitors can research the directory for free and request paid help when a Japanese booking flow becomes a barrier.
