Its job in the stack

I use Bitchat to understand and test communication that can continue locally without ordinary internet service, accounts or phone numbers. It is relevant to events, outages and situations where nearby devices need another path.

Mesh messaging is a resilience layer, not the everyday default. Its range, adoption, routing and security properties must be tested for the actual setting before anyone depends on it.
