Why I use it
Its job in the stack
I use DigitalOcean when a workload needs a real server, container host or managed data service without the breadth of a hyperscale cloud. Its products are understandable enough for small technical operations to own.
A simple cloud still creates infrastructure responsibilities. Updates, monitoring, backups, network exposure and cost need an owner.
Where it earns its place

Limits
What it does not solve
The customer owns more operations than on a managed site platform. Unmaintained servers become security and continuity risks.
