Why I use it
Its job in the stack
I use Discord when the people I need to reach already organize their community there. It can be effective for live discussion, event communities and informal collaboration that would not begin through a formal inbox.
For client work, the goal is to move important coordination toward Signal or email and keep deliverables outside a community chat history.

Limits
What it does not solve
Servers can be noisy, permissions complex and history difficult to turn into accountable work. It is not my preferred direct channel.
