Why I use it
Its job in the stack
I use Square when payment happens face to face: an event, a pop-up, a market stall or a small shop counter. A card reader and a phone are enough to take cards and contactless payments, with sales landing in the same dashboard.
It suits small operations that need to start taking payments quickly without building a checkout. Items, receipts and basic sales reporting come with it, and online invoices cover the occasional remote payment.

Limits
What it does not solve
Supported payment methods, hardware and fees vary by country. Complex online commerce or custom billing usually belongs in a dedicated payment platform.
