Why I use it
Its job in the stack
I use Wise when money has to cross a border without disappearing into opaque bank fees. Clients, contractors and suppliers abroad can pay or be paid in their own currency, and the exchange rate and fee are shown before the transfer is sent.
For a business that earns in one currency and spends in several, local account details and held balances remove a lot of friction. It works alongside a Japanese bank account rather than replacing one.

Limits
What it does not solve
Features, limits and verification requirements differ by country of residence. It is not a substitute for the domestic bank account that tax payments, payroll and many Japanese counterparties expect.
