Why I use it
Its job in the stack
I use Perplexity to get oriented quickly in an unfamiliar topic and collect candidate sources. The citations make it more useful than an answer with no path back to the underlying page.
It is reconnaissance, not final authority. Important claims are checked against the cited source, and the source itself is checked for authority, date and relevance.

Limits
What it does not solve
A citation can be irrelevant, weak or misread. Summaries can still flatten material differences between sources.
