Why I use it
Its job in the stack
I use PhotoScape for practical image work that does not need a full layered editor. Batch resizing, combining images, quick crops and contact-sheet style layouts are faster when the interface is built to handle them.
A lightweight utility earns its place by shortening repetitive work. It does not replace careful retouching or a managed source library.

Limits
What it does not solve
Complex compositing and high-end color workflows belong in more capable tools. Originals should remain untouched.
