Its job in the stack
I use YouTube because video needs a dependable public home that people can search, share and embed. Chapters, captions, descriptions and playlists can turn one upload into a useful reference instead of a disposable social clip.
YouTube is distribution, not the archive. Masters, captions, licenses and project files stay independently controlled so the channel is not the only copy of the work.
